Picked up this laptop in time for Uni in September. So far, I've been using it for web browsing, music/video playback and programming. Works great.
Integrated graphics mean that it's not a great choice for gaming or video editing (I'm sticking to the PC for that). Otherwise, it's pretty good value for the price.
That said, if you can, get rid of Windows 8 and the bundled software and install Windows 7 in its place.

I bought this laptop to use as a dedicated audio PC in my hi-fi system. The i5 processor and 8GB RAM gives me the processing power that I need for replay of digital (DSD) files while converting to PCM on the fly. Build quality is good. Although this is at the lower end of the price spectrum for i5/8GB laptops, I am very pleased with my purchase. Excellent value for money!

This is my first laptop ever, so that I have I have nothing to compare it against. However I am very pleased with this one.
The picture quality is excellent, the keyboard is easy to use, and the laptop appears to be quite well made. I was a bit concerned to read about peoples dislike of "Windows 8", but I bought a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 3500 , a mat, and found the laptop very easy to use. In fact, just as easy as with "Vista" and "XP"; and to keep things simple, I uninstalled half of the supplied "apps." that I did not need.
As other reviewers have pointed out, there are a few negatives with this laptop.
1). The sound quality is a bit "tinn'y" , but only a problem if you want to listen to music.
2). The battery life could be a bit longer.
3). The picture does not show up too well outside in the sunlight.
All things considered however, it is good value compared to other laptops, and so far I've had no problems and can recommend it.

I have had this laptop for a week now and so far very happy with my purchase. I paid £407 for it and with 750gb hard drive and 8gb ram and i5 processor I think that is excellent value. The laptop itself looks neat, has a very clear and bright screen and is really fast. The keyboard and mouse pad will take a little getting used to as they are over sensitive. I would happily buy this laptop again and recommend it highly to others.
My only complaint is windows 8. I cannot believe how terrible it is. I have grown up with computers and never had any problems before coming across this awful programme. I have managed to make several changes which have made it more manageable including a start button and menu and a standard internet explorer page. I am now much happier! Even more of a bonus is that I can actually turn the computer off. I cannot put into words how terrible window's 8 is. I don't know why Microsoft thought it was sensible to change a winning formula and create this mess.

The laptop I bought is the i5 version.So far it is running great. I can use it for about 4 hours before it needs charging. windows 8 is running smooth on it. it looks nice but the front is glossy so it gets finger marks on it. The laptop has everything i need including an sd card slot.
