after long confusion between macbook pro and air i finally decided and landed on air. Very happy about my decision as it very easy to carry around and work on it. it is so light that i am spinning it like a notebook with my fingers.

For gamers, i would suggest you go for something else.

It's thin, light, stylish and does it all. The SSD inside really makes the product blaze through tasks - and allows it to start up in 8 seconds! The i5 processor is more than enough to handle video playback, web browsing and the such, while the updated Intel HD4000 graphics make it a pretty decent gaming machine for it's size - running Portal 2 at over 60fps on all high settings. (with 8GB RAM the Shared VRAM goes up to 512MB) OSX Mountain Lion is simply a bliss for ex-Vista users - it simply works, with no lag when launching multiple apps - and a whole suite full of incredibly useful apps built in. The Battery life of the machine is also outstanding, lasting up to 8 hours with just basic web browsing; it's hard to believe they fit a battery in such a thin, sleek aluminium enclosure! The Keyboard and trackpad combo is simply astounding - with the wedge shape design of the computer aiding comfortable typing. The Gestures on the trackpad are also so smooth on the glass surface, almost feeling natural after a while.

As for things that aren't so prim and proper - I find the lack of ports slightly disturbing - while I have no problem with the lack of a DVD drive (sacrificed for portability) it's quite annoying how they haven't included an ethernet port in the space of the currently useless thunderbolt port. (though adapters are available for the thunderbolt port) It's also quite an expensive machine, but it's probably worth it considering how long it will last! The one final issue which I can see coming up is the lack of space - while the SSD is certainly faster and smaller, it does sacrifice a lot of space - with 256GB certainly not enough for most people - though I guess an external hard drive can fix that.. (I am not paying £500 for a 512GB upgrade)

The first thing that struck me about this Mac was the phenomenal startup speed. About 15 seconds from pressing the power key to system fully loaded and ready to go! The second thing was the incredible battery life. Then came the extraordinarily slim design and low weight, despite the sturdy aluminium case. Another impressive feature of this model is the touchpad with its ingeniously built-in clicker which effectively puts an end to accidental taps on the touchpad being registered as clicks. The one things obviously lacking is an optical drive, though this is less of a problem these days when ever-increasing download speeds mean that so much more data that used to be transferred from CD or DVD is now downloaded. Even then, if one really must have an optical drive a USB Super Drive (capable of playing or burning CDs and DVDs) is readily available at a reasonable price. Performance is as brisk as startup. Apps load very quickly and are very stable and reliable in action, thanks to the much-refined MacOS 10.8.4. shipped with this model. Quality of this sort naturally comes at a price which will seem excessive to PC users, but once bitten by the Mac bug one can never be satisfied with anything less.

I have this macbok Air 13 inch (256 gb hard disk) for about a month now, so with my minimum use on it (since i dont use very often in this period) I'm absolutely impressed ! It is so fast, so great looking, so thin, so easy working even for those who are not used to use OS as me (!) and ofcourse if you have an iphone / ipad/ i pod, it is great to combine it with them.

Ofcourse it is very expansive (1.500,00 euro) but this is unique outlook and superb performance.
PS. Didnt tryed it in gaming at all as I'm not a gamer.

I bought this great piece of kit because I couldn't get Citrix to install properly on my old Toshiba laptop. This laptop is just so much better than any computer I have ever used. It also runs all my work bits via citrix completely fine which is great even though that is a windows based system. I cannot rate this highly enough it is so quick, slim and tough - three words i wish could be used to describe me! I also now have the option to show clients some of the interesting computer modelling in their offices which is an added bonus.

The battery life is great as is the clever little charging cable which has a magnetic tip to avoid trip ups. It is the first apple mac I have used and it is just so intuitive that I already seem fairly comfortable with it.

If you are in any doubt about purchasing one for yourself, as I was, don't be - you won't be disappointed.

I think Macbookk has its own charm. I have been a PC user for years, but I am amazed at the design quotient of Apple products. Having bought the ipod, ipad, iphone, and now a macbook, I must say Apple put a heck of though into their design. Thats where conventional windows laptops fail. But you get what u pay for,..and this Macbook air is the finer thing in life.

Don't think, just take the plunge. You would be thankful that you did. Frustation free computing.
