I spent a long while looking around for a replacement to my desktop machine as I will be on the road for a while. The GT70 line were the ones that came out on top for choice and having agonised I finally bit the bullet. I am not disappointed.
It's hard to fault a laptop that can completely burn most gaming desktop machines without coming up for air. The GT70 has handled everything I've thrown at it 3d graphics wise and from a desktop point of view, blazingly fast comes to mind with usable desktop in around 4 seconds.
Intensive programs like Photoshop are dealt with in an almost casual way, multiple monitors are a cinch and all in all I could not be happier.
Remove the mains and it will default to the very capable Intel 4600 graphics chip and up to now using the machine quite heavily I've managed 5 hours of battery life, not bad for such a fully loaded piece of kit.
Did I mention that it's pretty too.
Only downsides are the Windows 8 interface but that is easily remedied with Stardock's Start 8 giving a superb Windows 7 start menu and desktop and as a plus the underlying code on Windows 8 is quite a bit faster and secondly, the manual is a bit pooh on certain subjects.
I would recommend the GT70 2OD-099UK to anyone looking a very powerful portable full time machine that can do all the jobs you could ever need a PC for and is way more capable than most desktops.
