I bought one of these and received it yesterday as a replacement for my old HP. Having spent £s on the old one it was cheaper to buy a new one. I settled for the Aspire. I was a bit daunted on how I would get on with it, reading how people thought it was confusing with all the apps and tiles to go through. Anyway after having it for 24 hours I've mastered it and find it really good. In fact I love the thing to bits. I'm glad I chose this model, as I spent weeks wondering which make and model to choose. I'm glad I chose this one. But believe me I got it for a lot cheaper than advertised here. Bought it Thursday and received it yesterday - only 24 hrs after ordering it. Great stuff.

Easy to get used too, and looking at the windows 8 you automatically want to touch the screen because of the layout.

Bought this for my brothers 21st birthday as he loves computers. He games and does other typical stuff... I don't think I could have bought a better machine for him. It's the cheapest quad core laptop I've seen and beats any Intel processor. The exterior is another plus and really vibrant screen too.

Slight confusion when purchasing this product as I thought it was touch screen. Glad its not as I don't want my wife's make-up fingers on it. So far so good, Windows 8 takes a bit of getting use to but you can have it in desk top mode anyway so don't know why people don't like it. Lots of memory, looks amazing and build quality is excellant. Touch pad is very sensitive which can get on your nerves and wifi did drop out a lot when I first began to use it. But now it's a lot better, probably my TalkTalk connection.Overall this is a nice laptop and caters for our needs.

Windows 8 overrated, touch-screen overrated, still using a wireless mouse in the main, but touch screen good for a change and to remind me just how I love new technology. Otherwise nice touch to keys, love the backlit keyboard. This is my second V5 from Amazon as the first had wireless connectivity problems. Had to download new driver for the Atheros wireless adapter on the first machine this did not work. Did for the second machine it worked first time.
Amazon were very helpful in sorting the problem and arranging a replacement which finally happened and all is well now. Proper Job!!!!
UPDATE June 2013. This has to be the worst Acer laptop I have ever had. The "new style" dual Ethernet and VGA connection is a pain. I use it regularly FOR vga and it is a nuisance to have to plug in a second plug each time. Restart for updates can take up to four hours even for the smallest of updates. Acer told me to do a factory reset and reload Windows 8. I did and lost all my programmes and data. I have yet to do another restart
Internet connection still dropping out on occasions and it's not my providers fault. Machine overall is flimsy. For the price paid not a good machine. Disappointed

A well designed laptop looks and feels great. Laptop delivered early and was brand new packaged. Touchscreen feature makes life a lot easier and for the price of £445 which i bought it for was a bargain!
